I will have her 7 month pics up next week or the week after. They are still in my camera. I do my ritual of making a sign for her to hold showing how many months she is. It was a bit challenging yesterday during her photo shoot. Now she crumples and eats it before I can snap the pic! She is a fast little diva! :):) I will try to get you some stats as well. Have to remember to weigh her and get her length sometime today. Gonna run to try and get some things done while she is napping at the moment! Talk to you all soon and hope you enjoy the pics and video I posted. :):)

7 Months!!

Hi All,

Mia is 7 months today...the day is almost over! ha ha. It's 11:49pm. It has been a couple of weeks since my last entry. Not too much has changed I guess. Mia is just simply making us smile all the time. She now grabs everything and anything, absolutely hates being left alone, and she got her first tooth!!!!!! This was probably the biggest milestone since the last time I wrote a post. Yes, she has a tooth. It came in, or at least we noticed it first, on July 16th. My mother actually noticed it first. She was babysitting for a few hours at our house and when I called her on our way back home, she said, "did you notice that Mia has a tooth coming in on the bottom?" I said, "no!" It is difficult to see her gums as she always puts her tongue in the way when you try to look. My mom felt her gums and said she felt it first, then took her in the sunlight and could actually see it. It is so cute! I feel bad for her, I'm sure it cannot be too comfortable having teeth come through your gums like that. I'm so excited, but I am realizing that she really is getting big. It is sort of sad as well.
She loves to eat and I give her just about any stage 2 foods now. She generally loves everything. Oh, that's right, she can hold her bottle now! My mom encouraged her last week when Mia was at her house for a couple of nights. I encourage her as well, and boy, can she really do it! She sits back in her highchair and I just have to position her hands and she can hold it up. It's so great. It is also a huge help so I can be hands free to do other things. I have to readjust it at times, but it's still a big milestone.
She doesn't have a 7 month doctor visit. She doesn't go back until 9 months. I wanted to take her weight and height, but just didn't get around to it today. Maybe tomorrow. Oh, that reminds me, besides it being Mia's 7 month birthday, Giacomo and I payed off our mortgage today!! HOORAHHHH!!!! Yes, I cannot believe it. It's too good to be true. So I will always remember her 7 month birthday with a lot of positive things!
She isn't mobile yet. She sits up so well and will bend and stretch like mad to get things she wants, but she isn't really doing much else. When we put her on her belly, she lifts her head and chest very high, but isn't rocking or really moving yet. I think she is not going to be a crawler and instead go directly from sitting to walking. We'll see. I am not complaining. I know it can get a big difficult when they walk, so I am taking advantage of these last few months when she doesn't. :)
Anyway, I am SO exhausted. I am going to run. I will post pics of her either tomorrow or the next day. I just wanted to let you all know I have not forgot about this site. Guess life gets in the way and the days pass so fast!

Talk to you all soon!

Lots of love,

Mia, Amy & Giacomo xoxoxo

Our weekend in Wildwood.

Hi everyone. It has been about 2 weeks since my last entry. Let's see...I think I need to update you with some stats. At her 6 month Dr. visit on July 1st, she weighed in at 18 pounds 10 ounces and is 26 inches long! I believe it is about 75 %ile for height and 95th for weight! She really keeps chugging along here. Her milestones include: she now moves things from one hand to the other. She is so much stronger in general. Everything and anything in reach is fair game and those little hands sure are fast. I must move everything far away when I sit with her at a table. She doesn't like when you hold her hands to do things, like make her clap, for example. She'll pull them out of your hands, like, "Get off of me mom, I want to do my own thing!" She really gets upset now if she left alone in a room. I must distract her with something and run! lol. She loves to be held. Ah, such the life. Don't you wish you appreciated it more when you were a baby now?! ha ha. We started meats on July 4th. She loves chicken and now has started on Turkey. She does not like peas! She makes the funniest face and gags every now and then. I disguise it with sweet potatoes of whatever to get her to eat it. From my readings, you must be persistent and patient with foods they do not take to, because with time, they eventually will. So, I will persevere! She can support her weight on her legs if I hold her up. She loves this and makes that proud face like "look at me mom!" She is sleeping so much better. She goes in about 8ish and gets up around 5am for a bottle and will go back to sleep until about 7. She is in number 3 diapers now. We started them pretty much at her 6th month birthday. I was trying to use the rest of my number 2's and they were bursting at the seams! lol I need to pack up her 3-6 month duds that are still in her drawer. I have had no time. She is well into 6-9 months and by the way she is growing, I do believe she will be in 9-12 soon. She still talks all the time, and oh yes, she LOVES to squeal! She started doing this high pitched, ear piercing scream around July 4th. She is so proud of how loud she can get and just keeps doing it more. It's very cute actually. When I get her to laugh, it is so hearty now, it comes straight from her belly and it the best thing ever. I love making her laugh of course. She spent July 4th in Wildwood. We stayed there that weekend and my parents came as well. They met us down there on the 5th. They left Monday and we stayed until Tuesday. We dropped her at my mother's on the way back and she stayed the night at my parents while Giacomo and I went back to Morristown. I had my hair cut, colored, etc. the next day and picked her up after. It was just a week of a great deal of driving. Giacomo traveled Wed. through Friday. I was the taxi driver for the week and Mia sure was a Gypsy. She stayed at my mother's Tues and Wed night and then at my in laws on Thurs. night because I worked on Friday and Giacomo was not around to help me bring her to my in laws, so dropping her off at night is much better. Mia really saw the beach for the first time. She went in Cape Cod, but it was really the bay. She saw waves for the first time this past Monday, July 7th. We sat her in the sand too! She was mesmerized by its texture. I didn't bring my camera..yes, one of the first times! I was frustrated and will just have to keep moment as a memory only! :( We went to my friend Dina's house yesterday for a pool/bbq day. They have and in ground pool and we brought Mia in of course. It was her first time in a big pool. We put her in this tube we bought, but she was a bit scared and cried. Giacomo then held her for a while and when we tried again, she was calmer and enjoyed it.

I think this is about all for now. I have to work tomorrow, so I am going to get going. I am posting pics which include the last 2 weeks. Hope you enjoy them.

Talk to you all soon.

6 Months Today!

Hello Everyone!-

Mia is 6 months young today! She is 27 weeks/190 days young! What can we say other than we are eating her up every minute. We were at my mother's house this morning. We went to go get Mia on Friday night. I went last Wednesday because Giacomo left for travel for 2 nights. I worked Thursday and left her with my mother Thursday night. I came back up to Morristown and had a girls night out with some friends. It was so great. When Giacomo came home Friday, we both went down to my parents and winded up staying until Sunday! I was so happy my mother got to spend some quality time with her. When we came home from my mother's we did some things around the house and it was fairly an uneventful day. We took some cute pics of our butterball this morning at my mothers. She is holding her 6 month sign and enjoys trying to eat it as well! I have posted some pics of this.

About our Mia, let's see...she is always changing!! What can I add from my last post....she now reaches for things. She didn't do this much before. She will see something out of reach and try desperately to get those little hands around it. She will lean and do whatever she can. Of course, everything tries to make its way into her mouth. Also, when she is laying on her back, mostly when we are changing her, she pushes off with both legs and works her way on up. She is definitely moving a bit more now. Even when she is in the crib. We always put her on a pillow and she generally stayed there, but now, we find her laying completely perpendicular from the way we put her in. She says "dada" and has added we believe "baba" and "mama" to her repertoire! She loves to sit up all the time now. She gets all excited when she sees children and animals. I took her to my neighbors house in Morristown the other day. They have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. She was so excited to see them. It was amazing, like she knew they were like her. Her legs and arms were going a mile a minute and she was squealing in delight. She also did this when she saw my parents dog, Heidi. We let Heidi lick her and Mia loves it. Mia blinks when she does this and it is so cute. She reaches and loves to touch Heidi. It is so wonderful to watch her now observe and interact with everything. She seems to be starting to hold her hands up when she wants to be picked up. If I hold my hands, she responds with some complaining and her hands in the air. She is not so consistent with this, but it is definitely there. She doesn't really have stranger anxiety yet, however, when she sees somebody she doesn't know, she will gape at them for a while. It's very funny. It's obvious that she recognizes strangers now. My friend Dina came over Saturday to visit me and Mia and she did this to her. Another thing, she is getting harder to change. Diaper, clothes, whatever. She'll kick her legs and it is so hard for me to keep hold of them, she is so strong. I started her on squash today actually. She is eating 3 times a day. I give her rice cereal with a fruit in the AM and then regular rice cereal with a vegetable for lunch and dinner. I have not started meats just yet. According to my pedi, you can start meats at 6 months. I am not through introducing her to all the vegetables, so I guess when I am done with this, I'll start meats. I am in no rush at all. I want her gut to adjust well to new things. I took my time with the fruits and vegetables. I introduce a new thing and keep her on it well over the 5 days just to allow her time to get used to it. I guess I'm a bit paranoid when I think of how she was so sensitive to the formula in her early days and want to go easy on her. She has not had any trouble so far with anything, thank goodness. She loves to eat most of the time. The mouth is open ready for the next spoonful. I have her 6 month pediatrician appt. this coming Tuesday, July 1st. I am sure the doctor give me the OK with meats once she finishes the squash. I am excited to see her current height and weight. I think I mentioned before that we did not have a 5 month visit, so it's been 2 months since I have had an accurate weight and height. She is still very big, I think. So we'll see!

We are going to most likely go to Wildwood this coming weekend for 4th of July weekend. My parents may go as well. This should be nice. I'm working Thursday this week and that is it. I also may go to New Hope this coming Wednesday for a girls day. It will be me, Mia, my mom, my mother in law, my sister in law and her 2 girls. We are in the process of setting it up. I'll let you know how the day goes next post assuming we go. Looking forward to this.

Well, I guess this is all for now. We cannot believe our little peanut is getting so big and is already half a year. It's so funny, in the beginning I wanted her to get big so she would grow out of that colic phase, but now I would be happy if she stayed this age for a long time. Too bad it doesn't work that way. I am just enjoying every moment and capturing as many memories of her as I can. The camera never stops clicking. Every moment is a photo-op! I think this is all for now. If I think of anything else, I'll sign on again. I'll let you all know in my next post Mia's stats!

Hope you are all well! Just in case I do not get on here before the 4th, Happy Fourth of July!!

Oh, that's the other thing...I'm planning on taking professional pics of Mia sometime this week or next. I'll keep you posted. Even as good as my pics are, I still love professional ones. I cannot miss her 6 month birthday. It's a big one.

Talk to you soon.

Love, Mia, Giacomo and Amy :):):) xoxoxoxo

Here are some current pics of Mia from this past weekend with my parents. We put her in a little pool on the 28th. It was her first real "dip". I put her in at my mother in laws little pool, but she didn't last that long. This time, she really had a ball!!

HAPPY 6 MONTHS PEANUT! WE LOVE YOU!!!
